The Robinson Carusoe Wedding Package!

Have you ever dreamed of being stranded on a deserted island?

If you've watched the 2nd version of Pirates of the Caribbean, you'll remember the area where the pirates were fighting over the chest containing Davy Jones' heart. Remember the shallow blue-green water with miles of silky soft white coral sand? Well it really does exist, and yes, the sand really does feel silky soft. In real life, the place is called Sandy Cay (Key) just a 30 min boat ride off Great Exuma. In fact, there are literally hundreds of small Cay's like that where you could plan your own wedding on a pristine wild beach with nobody else in sight - unless you count a few Iguana's or the occasional plane flying high overhead.

Here's a wedding idea for the adventurous couple...

You and your fiance could be "shipwrecked" on a lonely beach all by yourselves. You could be dropped of with a tent and sufficient supplies to last the night. Of course you would also be provided some help getting your shelter and supplies all set up. Before leaving, your delivery crew (and yes you can call them Pirates if you want) would leave you with a bottle of wine and a fabulous catered meal to enjoy as you watch the sun set.
(ok nobody said you would be roughing it) The shelter could range from rustic to totally lavish depending on your tastes.

The next day, your guests and the minister will arrive by boat to spend a few hours playing in the sand before time for the ceremony.

After the ceremony, everyone will ride the boat back to Stocking Island for a reception at a totally Bahamian beach bar called the "Chat N Chill" restaurant and bar. After a nice meal and a few Kalik beers, a local band or DJ can play some dance tunes. After the festivities are over, your guests would take a 5 min boat ride back to Exuma where there is a selection of hotels for every taste ranging from simple to extremely elegant.

Why am I suggesting all this?

Well of course it's because I'm hoping you'll need a photographer to capture it all.

How do you make it all happen?

Well you could start by hiring a good photographer of course :)

Kwanza (the one in the pink hat on the slideshow) and her friends can work with you to create any sort of wedding you might dream up - even if it's not quite so adventurous as the Robinson Carusoe package I've mentioned here.

If you can't get an email from her just be patient, the internet is very temperamental there on the island.

See you at the beach,

Glen
